Hidalgo County Republicans were deeply saddened this summer by the passing of long-time precinct chair and dilligent volunteer worker Melva Summers who went to be with the Lord on August 24th at 82 after a five month battle against pancreatic cancer. She and her husband Joe, were two of the party pioneers who helped make a difference in Hidalgo County.
